3.Repetitive behaviors or interests:
Another early warning sign of autism is repetitive behaviors or interests. Children with autism may engage in repetitive behaviors, such as rocking or flapping their hands, or may have intense interests in specific subjects or objects. These behaviors can be calming or soothing for children with autism, but can also be a source of frustration for parents and caregivers.
Repetitive behaviors can take many forms, such as repeating words or phrases, repeating movements, or having a set routine that must be followed. These behaviors can be so intense that a child may become upset if their routine is disrupted or if they are unable to engage in the behavior.
Intense interests in specific subjects or objects can also be a sign of autism. Children with autism may become fixated on a specific topic, such as trains or dinosaurs, and may want to talk about it or engage with it constantly. They may also become fixated on specific objects, such as a toy or a piece of clothing, and may want to carry it with them at all times.
